Family and Laity Outreach
The Family and Laity Outreach Programs ministry team is part of the Archdiocesan Office for Marriage, Family and Life whose mission is to assist and encourage all Christians to fulfill their call to holiness.
Pope John Paul II and the documents of 2nd Vatican Council call the laity to transform the world where they live. Our office promotes this evangelization, helping to create a culture of life, by programs that support the vocation of marriage, the single state and outreach to youth and young adults.
We seek to support strong vocations rooted in faith and Christian freedom, lived in service to our families, communities, and church parishes.
EARLY CATHOLIC FAMILY LIFE (ECFL)
Would you like to learn more about passing your faith on to your children? Here is an opportunity for you to discuss faith education with other Catholic parents and have fun learning more about God together. Early Catholic Family Life (ECFL) is a wonderful program for parents with children 0-5 years old. ECFL is a 7 session 2-hour class patterned after the highly successful and popular Minnesota ECFE program (Early Childhood Family Education). ECFL consists of a parent-child interaction component, a parent discussion time and a children’s time.
This program, emphasizing the importance of putting faith at the center of family life at the earliest stages, has already been successfully piloted in the archdiocese and is now being offered to interested parishes in both English and Spanish. Training sessions are held annually. Please check back for more information on training dates and times.
More information about the program can be found on the Parenting and Children page.
ALL IN GOD'S PLAN
All in God's Plan (AIGP) is a three-part program offered at various stages of development for children and their mothers, fathers, parents, guardians, or other strong role models in their lives. Find more information in the Parenting and Children page.
Parish Liaisons
The Archdiocesan Office for Marriage, Family and Life seeks a contact person within each parish, known as a Parish Liaison. As a parish liaison you help ensure that members at your parish are informed about Archdiocesan events and resources available to them and their family members and those dear to them. If you would like to be the family life liaison for your parish, please contact us.
