Very Rev Peter A. Laird is Vicar General of the Archdiocese and Moderator of the Curia. Fr Laird succeeded Bishop Paul Sirba in December 2009, when he took up his responsibilities in the Diocese of Duluth.

As Vicar General, Fr Laird is the principal deputy of Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt in the exercise of administrative authority. The Vicar General assists the Archbishop in the general care and administration of the diocese. As Moderator of the Curia, Father Laird is appointed by the Archbishop to coordinate the ministries and services of the diocese.

Bishop Lee Piché also serves as Vicar General along with Fr Laird.
