Certain volunteers, including but not limited to, those who have either regular or unsupervised contact with minors, must also undergo a criminal background check.

Additional Background Check Requirements for Schools
Current Minnesota law requires that school administrators notify parents annually of the school’s background check policy. Minnesota law also requires that school hiring authorities investigate whether any disciplinary actions were taken against a teacher applicant’s teaching license. If you wish to hire a teacher who holds or has held a license from a state other than Minnesota, please contact OPCY at email@example.com or 651-290-1622.
