“No women should ever feel so alone that abortion seems her only alternative. No man should ever feel so trapped or fearful that he believes there is no other answer…” – Abortion and a Failure of Community, Archbishop Harry J Flynn, 1996
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis offers many programs and resources in Respect Life Outreach.
A Day in Honor and Recognition for Birth Mothers
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis offers an annual Day of Honor and Recognition for Birthmothers in July each year. This day is set aside to recognize the sacrifices made by those who have relinquished a child to adoption. This day also offers an opportunity for healing, sharing and for learning about resources available for birth mothers. Please see the News and Events page for the most current event information.
In His Time
In His time is a support group for couples who are struggling with infertility. This group provides a supportive environment for Catholics who follow the church teachings on infertility. It allows couples to share their experiences with others who are on a similar journey. Meetings offer comfort, hope, and a place for couples as they wait for God’s plan to unfold in their life.

The Life Fund is an outreach to help women carry their unborn baby or care for their newborn baby with the dignity they both deserve. The Life Fund provided one-time, last resort emergency funding to women in need during their pregnancy and the first year of their child’s life. The Life Fund outreach is administered by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, in response to the Gospel call “And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.” (Luke 18:15)

Post Abortion Outreach
“I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion. The Church is aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and she does not doubt that in many cases it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance. The Father of mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. To the same Father and his mercy you can with sure hope entrust your child. With the friendly and expert help and advice of other people, and as a result of your own painful experience, you can be among the most eloquent defenders of everyone's right to life.” – Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life, Paragraph 99
If you or someone you know are struggling with guilt, depression, regret, anger, or other difficult emotions after abortion, you are not alone.
Project Rachel is compassionate, free, one to one support from trained lay volunteers to individuals in emotional, psychological, and spiritual pain as a result of abortion. And all communication is kept confidential.
