Event Overview

The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis is sponsoring an all-day event Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the St. Paul RiverCentre to shine a spotlight on evangelization.

Over the past four years 180 parishes in the archdiocese have been involved in small groups to move forward with a consciousness that we are an evangelizing community. This focus on evangelizing was launched by Archbishop Harry Flynn in 2003 and since then about 180 parishes and 25, 000 Catholics have been involved in the effort, which has been centered on small faith-sharing groups in parishes. The goal of this Evangelization Initiative is to make “Jesus Christ known and loved in our time by choosing to live out the Gospel in every moment.”

November 8, 2008 will be an opportunity for more than 5000 Catholics of all ages to gather together for speakers, music, break out groups, and videos to move the archdiocese forward on being an evangelizing community. There will be day care and special programming for children and teens such that this is an event for all ages. This is the first event for Catholics such as this in Minnesota history.
