The first talk in the series, titled Rediscover: meaning Finding God's Purpose for My Life, presented by Father Peter Laird drew overflow crowds to the churches of St John the Baptist in New Brighton, Saint John Neumann in Eagan and Our Lady of Grace in Edina. An audio recording of the first talk will be posted at Rediscover-faith.org on Monday, February 11 and video will be posted by the end of the week. Free CDs of the full set of four talks will be available at parishes in April.

All talks are free, start at 7 p.m. and run a total of 90 minutes including hospitality following the talk. No registration is necessary.

The Rediscover: Faith 2013 Speakers Series is part of the Rediscover: evangelization and catechesis initiative launched by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis in late 2012. Rediscover: is an invitation to find meaning and purpose in life, a sense of belonging, inner peace and strength, and true freedom through the depth and beauty of our Catholic faith. Rediscover: supports outreach to Catholics, provides formation opportunities to deepen our faith and will become part of who we are as a local Church through ongoing outreach and formation opportunities. Rediscover: complements the good work already being done by parishes, Catholic schools and Catholic ministry organizations throughout this Archdiocese. 

Rediscover: is the result of work by lay community volunteers and clergy from across the Archdiocese, along with parish, school and archdiocesan staff. Rediscover: grew out of Pope John Paul II’s invitation to join in the “New Evangelization” and Pope Benedict XVI’s apostolic letter Porta Fidei and has been blessed to have access to research and support from various Catholic organizations across the country.
