Potential Uses of the Institution: SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM Situated in pristine northern Wisconsin, at the base of the Chaquamagon National Forest, Camp WeHaKee provides traditional summer residential camping experiences for girls and families. As a ministry of the Sinsinawa Dominicans, Camp WeHaKee has provided a camp program based on universal Gospel values and Catholic social principles since 1923. Available activities include horseback riding, waterskiing, swimming (lake and heated pool), archery, tennis, sail boarding, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, gymnastics, arts and crafts, dance, vocal and instrumental music, drama, biking and much more. Mass is offered weekly in our beautiful lakeside chapel and each day concludes with evening prayer lead by campers. Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters volunteer throughout the summer and work alongside the camp staff helping to encourage and guide the campers and staff. AVAILABLE FACILITIES - Log framed spacious dining hall originally built by Knute Rockne - Beautiful, contemplative chapel overlooking Hunter Lake - Five winterized residential facilities with kitchens and bathrooms, each able to accommodate 5-10 - Heated, outdoor swimming pool - Waterfront on Hunter Lake with equipment for canoeing, sailing, kayaking and sail boarding - 13 seasonal camper cabins that each accommodate 10-12 - Three new, modern shower houses with individual, private showers and changing stalls - Two tennis courts - Sand volleyball court - Two badminton courts - Basketball/Four-square courts - Large, gymnasium with stage area - Health center - Art center for ceramics & pottery, painting & drawing, jewelry making and more - Soccer/Athletic field - Horse stable, barn, corral, riding ring and pasture.
