Nature of Work
The Office of Ministry for Retired Clergy provides advocacy,
support and resource information to retired
priests and their families and/or
caregivers. Information may include but
is not limited to:
- Financial, i.e. Medical assistance,
Alternative Care Grant
Program available through the county.
- Housing information, i.e. Nursing
Homes, Assist Living and Independent Living
opportunities.
- In-Home community services, i.e.
Homemaker, Chore, Life
Line, Grocery delivery, Public Health Nurse
and Home Health Aide.
- Assistance
is available in time of emergency and crisis.
- Social
worker is able to conduct home and hospital
interviews
and face to face visits with families and/or
caregivers.
- Information
is also available about the pension plan,
funeral
preparations, Deanery (18 for Retired Clergy)
and the
proposed Long Term Care Plan.
