Se invit\u00f3 a los redentoristas (la Congregaci\u00f3n del Sant\u00edsimo Redentor) a hacerse cargo de la parroquia, lo que la convirti\u00f3 en la primera parroquia redentorista de Minnesota. Las primeras 1000 familias de la parroquia utilizaban las escuelas del vecindario para las misas semanales. La parroquia lleva el nombre de San Alfonso de Ligorio, fundador de los Redentoristas. La primera misa se celebr\u00f3 en 1960 y la escuela abri\u00f3 sus puertas en 1961. La iglesia actual se termin\u00f3 de construir en 1969.
