{"id":2183,"date":"2025-01-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.archspm.org\/314-priestly-residence-model-policy-parishes\/"},"modified":"2025-03-11T13:29:17","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T17:29:17","slug":"314-priestly-residence-model-policy-parishes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.archspm.org\/es\/policies\/300-clergy\/314-priestly-residence-model-policy-parishes\/","title":{"rendered":"314 - Residencia sacerdotal - Modelo de pol\u00edtica parroquial"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"policy_button_container\"><a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/archspmpolicies\/300\/314+%E2%80%93+Priestly+Residence+%E2%80%93+Model+Policy+for+Parishes.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"314 \u2013 Priestly Residence \u2013 Model Policy for Parishes|\" rel=\"noopener\">PDF Download<\/a><\/div>\n<p><strong>PRIESTLY RESIDENCE: Model Policy For Use By Parishes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Prior to a priest permitting a long-term non-cleric resident to stay in our Parish Rectory, the Pastor or Parochial Administrator must notify our Parish Board of Trustees in writing.<a href=\"https:\/\/safe-environment.archspm.org\/300-clergy\/314-priestly-residence-model-policy-parishes\/#_ftn1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No person may reside or stay overnight at the Parish Rectory if to do so would have the appearance of, or give rise to, scandal under Canon Law.<a href=\"https:\/\/safe-environment.archspm.org\/300-clergy\/314-priestly-residence-model-policy-parishes\/#_ftn2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[2]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Minors, unless they are relatives of one of the assigned residents, are not permitted to stay overnight in the rectory. \u00a0Minors may never share the same sleeping room with a priest, transitional deacon or seminarian.<\/li>\n<li>Rectory residents, including assigned clerics, are responsible for paying their share for damage caused by themselves, their pets and visitors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Definitions.<\/strong>\u00a0 For the purpose of this policy only:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRectory\u201d shall mean the parish owned or rented residence designated for occupancy by the pastor or other priests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParish\u201d shall mean the ecclesiastical community of the faithful that is established as a juridic person under the authority of the Archbishop, and which is incorporated as a church corporation under MN Statute \u00a7315.15.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLong-Term\u201d shall mean residents whose stay at the rectory exceeds two weeks.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> <em>See <\/em>Settlement Agreement dated December 12, 2015 between the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and Ramsey County Attorney.
