The Office of Mission Advancement at the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Minneapolis manages the CSA, effective January 1, 2024.

The Archdiocesan Office of Mission Advancement supports and encourages the faithful to share the resources entrusted to them by God for the good of our Church. This includes:

  • Partnering with the archdiocesan parishes, schools, and institutions in planning and achieving their financial goals
  • Managing capital campaigns
  • Implementing and executing the CSA
  • Partnering with the Archdiocesan Stewardship Committee to promote stewardship as a way of life

The Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF) is the entity that managed the CSA prior to 2024. In 2023, the CSAF Board of Directors voted unanimously to dissolve the Foundation as of the end of the 2023 CSA campaign and to support the annual Appeal’s return to the archdiocese as of January 1, 2024. The Archdiocesan Finance Council Corporate Board (AFCCB) also voted to reintegrate the annual Appeal into the Archdiocesan structure.

The annual Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) funds the immediate needs of the many important ministries of the archdiocese, as chosen by Archbishop Hebda. These ministries include K-8 and high school scholarships, campus ministry support, helping those in need, providing prison and hospital chaplains, supporting faith-based programs and right to life initiatives.

The Lord, Renew Your Church (LRYC) campaign is a multi-year capital campaign to support the long-term needs of our parishes and archdiocese. The LRYC campaign is raising funds to strengthen parishes, enhance education, sustain the Cathedral of Saint Paul and the Basilica of Saint Mary, care for clergy and future clergy and provide funds for the Church to respond to crises such as natural disasters, homelessness and other extraordinary requests for assistance.
