Francis Joseph “Casimir” Plakut

Father Plakut served as a priest in the Diocese of Saint Cloud, the Diocese of Crookston, the Diocese of Duluth, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis (St. Batholomew Church, Wayzata, MN.), the Archdiocese of Nassau, Bahamas, and as a Chaplain at Harvard University and in the United States Army. Plakut left St. John’s Abbey in in 1962. He worked in assignments in Nebraska and Texas under the name Fr. Francis J. Michael. In September 2017 Plakut’s name was added to both the St. John’s Abbey and Diocese of Crookston disclosure lists as “likely to have offended against minors.”
