Called and Gifted™

Since 1993, over 200,000 laypeople, clergy, and religious across the globe have embarked on the Called & Gifted™ Discernment Process to uncover how the Holy Spirit is uniquely at work in their lives. This powerful discernment process helps Christians recognize the charisms—spiritual gifts—they’ve been given not just for their own sake, but to represent Christ and be channels of God’s goodness for others.  Charisms are not reserved for a few; they are for every baptized Christian. As the Catechism reminds us, “All charisms ought to be exercised in the service of God” (CCC 2003).

Explore the ancient teaching of the Church on how the gifts (or charisms) of the Holy Spirit work in your life and in the life of your parish. During these workshops, you will learn the signs and characteristics of the most common charisms of the Holy Spirit that are the foundation for developing personal discernment tools to discover more particularly God’s calling in your life.

The introductory workshop is the first step in a three-part discernment process developed by the Catherine of Siena Institute. The workshops are available in person in the Archdiocese periodically during the year. The follow up phases of discernment are coordinated in person and in small groups following the introductory workshop.

The cost of participating in the three-part discernment process is $125 per person. The cost includes: attendance at the live workshop, workshop materials, lunch, refreshments, and follow-up personal and small group discernment guidance. All workshops are identical and take place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Registration is necessary to communicate digital materials to participants in advance of attending the workshop. Watch for future dates and locations!
