St. Frances Cabrini was established in 1946, just months after the canonization of Mother Cabrini in July 1946. Beginning with 450 households, the community worshipped at Sidney Pratt School until the church was completed in 1948. Designed by architect Robert Cerny, the church won awards for its design. St. Frances Cabrini is a vibrant, progressive urban Catholic community with rich traditions of inclusivity and social action, coupled with strong lay involvement and leadership. The parish and its members, who come from across the Twin Cities Metro area, fully embrace Vatican II. At St. Frances Cabrini, parishioners joyfully worship, courageously love, work for justice and grow in faith. All are welcome.
