If you are age 70 1/2 or older, you can make a “Qualified Charitable Distribution” (QCD) by directing a specific amount of your IRA funds directly to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis – Catholic Services Appeal, which is completely tax-free and counts towards your required minimum distribution (RMD), allowing you to donate a larger sum without impacting your taxable income.

En Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) welcomes estate gifts to offer sustainable support to the many important ministries of our archdiocese. Estate gifts to the CSA are governed by the Archdiocesan Gift Acceptance Policy and handled pursuant to these requirements. In keeping with the intention of the donor, estate gifts to the CSA do not qualify towards the donor’s parish CSA goal. All legal matters related to estate gifts will be handled by the Chancellor for Civil Affairs in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer and the Director of Mission Advancement.
