Holy Trinity is the southern-most parish in the Archdiocese of
Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The town of Waterville is located
between Lake Sakatah and Lake Tetonka. The first Catholic settlers
were served by priests who rode a circuit of the towns in the area.
The first church was built by Fr. Alexander Christie in 1883. The first resident pastor was
Fr. Lucey, who arrived in 1892. The current church was completed in 1952.
Today, Holy Trinity serves families from Waterville and the neighboring community of
Morristown. Most parishioners are farmers, and many are of German descent. The church
also serves visitors who come during the summer for recreational fishing and camping.
