St. Albert was established in 1902 and the first church was completed in
June 1906 in what was then called St. Michael Station. The village began
to be called “Albertville” in 1909, named after the parish of St. Albert. A parish
school opened in September 1915 and continued to function there until 1968,
under the leadership of the School Sisters of Notre Dame. The Oblates of Mary
Immaculate staffed the parish from 1916 until 2001.
The current church was built in 1973 with a capacity to seat 350 people. In
2003 the parish entered into a cluster with the parish of St. John the Baptist
in Dayton, sharing a pastor. After also being clustered with St. Michael in St.
Michael for a brief time period, since 2021, St. Albert has had its own pastor.
St. Albert takes pride in the 14 religious women, 1 brother, and 4 priests the
parish has produced during its long history.
