The current St. Patrick church is the 4th building to serve the community. The first was an old school building purchased in 1884, followed by a wood frame building, erected later that same year. This was superseded by a combined church and school in 1938, and a modern, large church, completed in 1963.
St. Patrick has always highly valued education. Its school, established in 1885, was consolidated with nearby Sacred Heart and St. Casimir Schools in 1992 to form Trinity Catholic School which closed in 2009. Nowadays, St. Patrick has a diverse community where the Hmong from Laos and Thailand have found their spiritual home.
