Statement Regarding Prayers for Peace this Saturday

From Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda

Our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, has asked that all people of goodwill join him to pray for peace tomorrow, Saturday, April 11. While thousands are expected to join him in Saint Peter’s Square at 6 p.m. in Rome, I am inviting you to join in praying for peace, whether at home or at your parish. Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis are being asked to open their doors for prayer at the same time, 11 a.m. Central. This will be an opportunity for us to unite to ask Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to bring peace to our violent and troubled world, particularly at a time of escalating armed conflict. I will be celebrating a previously scheduled Confirmation at the Cathedral at that time and will be asking the newly confirmed and their families to pray for peace.
