The first St. Patrick, established in 1871, was located south and west of the current church, on what is now known as County Road 58. It was home to 40 Irish immigrant families and was a mission church of St. Stephen in Anoka. When the country church could no longer hold the rapidly expanding community, the parish was relocated. The Collins family donated a portion of the Collins family farm to the church in 1971. In 1976, a new St. Patrick church and an education wing were constructed. The cemetery was built in 1985. Once again, the community had outgrown the current church, making expansion necessary. In 2001, what had been the old church became the social hall, and the new sanctuary was officially completed. St. Patrick’s is a community of 2,200 families serving God and each other. It continues to grow as it serves the citizens of Oak Grove and surrounding communities.
