St. Bernard provides vital services to the diverse North End community of St. Paul. The parish mission is to learn, love and live the challenging Word of Jesus Christ, offering parishioners and neighbors direction and support at every phase of their faith journey. St. Bernard was built to serve the German immigrants in the late 1800s and continues to cherish its German heritage, at the same time that people of many ethnic backgrounds make their church home here—Burma, Africa, Mexico and many other places. St. Bernard was administered by the Benedictine Fathers until 1995.
