St. Albert the Great was established on February 10, 1935. The first Mass was offered
on April 7, 1935, in the chapel of the McDivitt Funeral Home. Soon the parish
began construction on a school building where the community could
also worship. The parish continued to worship in the school building for
14 years. At last, in 1947, construction began on a new church building
and rectory. The present church was completed in 1949. In 1993,
the parish made the difficult decision to close the school.
Since the beginning of its operation, Dominican priests have
pastored the parish.
