Archbishop Bernard Hebda has announced the following appointments in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis:
Effective April 23, 2025
Reverend Philippe Vigneron, assigned as moderator of the priest in solidum team assigned to the Church of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin in Saint Paul and the Church of the Holy Childhood in Saint Paul. Father Vigneron was previously assigned as priest in solidum of the same parishes.
Effective July 1, 2025
Reverend Albert Backmann, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Rose of Lima in Roseville while the current pastor, Reverend Marc Paveglio is on sabbatical. Father Backmann is a retired priest.
Reverend Austin Barnes, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint Francis Xavier in Buffalo. Father Barnes was previously assigned as parochial administrator of the same parish.
Reverend William Duffert, assigned as pastor of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Bloomington. Father Duffert was previously assigned as parochial administrator of the same parish.
Reverend Joseph Gifford, assigned to full-time academic studies in canon law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Father Gifford was previously assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Wenceslaus in New Prague.
Reverend Hjálmar Guðjónsson, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Pax Christi in Eden Prairie. This is a transfer from his previous assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of the Divine Mercy in Faribault. He succeeds Reverend William Murtaugh, who is a retired priest and has been serving as pastor of Pax Christi since 2022.
Reverend Nathan Hastings, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Michael in Saint Michael. This is a transfer from his current assignment as pastor of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Saint Paul.
Reverend Joseph Kuharski, assigned as sacramental minister for the Spanish speaking community at the Church of Saint George in Long Lake. This is in addition to his current assignment at the Saint Paul Seminary in Saint Paul.
Reverend Benjamin Little, assigned as spiritual director for the Saint Paul Seminary in Saint Paul. This is a transfer from his previous assignment as pastor of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Savage.
Reverend Thomas Margevičius, assigned as pastor of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Saint Paul. This is a transfer from his current assignment as pastor of the Church of Saint Mary in Le Center, the Church of Saint Henry in Saint Henry, the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Marysburg, and the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland.
Reverend Michael McClellan, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint Pius V in Cannon Falls and the Church of Saint Joseph in Miesville. Father McClellan was previously assigned as parochial administrator of both parishes.
Reverend Justus Musinguzi, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Dominic in Northfield and as parochial administrator of the Church of the Annunciation in Hazelwood. This is a transfer from his previous assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of the Holy Cross in Minneapolis.
Reverend Edwin Ngah, CFIC, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Risen Savior in Burnsville. This is a transfer from his current assignment as hospital chaplain for the Hennepin County Medical Center.
Reverend Timothy Norris, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Wenceslaus in New Prague and as sacramental minister for Spanish ministry at the Church of Saint Mary in Le Center. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Stephen-Holy Rosary in Minneapolis and sacramental minister of the Church of Saint George in Long Lake.
Reverend Matthew Northenscold, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Mary in Le Center, the Church of Saint Henry in Saint Henry, the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Marysburg. This is a transfer from his current parish assignments as sacramental minister for the Church of Saint Pius V in Cannon Falls and sacramental minister of the Church of Saint Joseph in Miesville. Father Northenscold is also assigned to the Metropolitan Tribunal.
Reverend Robert Pish, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Savage. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Bartholomew in Wayzata.
Reverend Michael Reinhardt, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint Rita in Cottage Grove. Father Reinhardt was previously assigned as parochial administrator of the same parish.
Reverend John Rumpza, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of the Holy Cross in Minneapolis. This is a transfer from his previous assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Odilia in Shoreview.
Reverend Timothy Sandquist, assigned as pastor of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Montgomery and the Church of Saint Patrick in Shieldsville. Father Sandquist previously served as parochial administrator of both parishes.
Reverend Michael Selenski, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Vincent de Paul in Brooklyn Park. Father Selenski was previously assigned as parochial vicar of the same parish.
Reverend Dennis Zehren, assigned as pastor of the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis. This is a transfer from his previous assignment as pastor of the Church of Saint Vincent de Paul in Brooklyn Park.

Reverend Stephen Ulrick, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Bartholomew while the current pastor, Reverend John Klockeman is on sabbatical.
Retirements
Effective May 1, 2025
Deacon Robert Schnell, granted the status of a retired deacon. Deacon Schnell has served the archdiocese as a permanent deacon since his ordination in 2004, most recently at the Church of Saint Patrick in Edina.
Effective July 1, 2025
Deacon Richard Heineman, granted the status of retired deacon. Deacon Heineman has served the archdiocese as a permanent deacon since his ordination in 2002, most recently at the Church of Saint Bridget in Minneapolis.
Reverend John Bauer, granted the status of a retired priest. Father Bauer has been serving the archdiocese as a priest since his ordination in 1979, most recently as pastor of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Minneapolis.
