In the early 1850s, a small group of Irish immigrants formed a new settlement called Cahill. In 1857, they built a log church and named it in honor of St. Patrick, patron of Ireland. It was replaced in 1884 and again in 1925. In 1955, 27-acres of land were purchased for a future church and school. A sanctuary, social hall, and classrooms were completed in 1961. The school never opened, but the classrooms were used for parish faith formation. The present church was completed in 1980.
