Infertility & Adoption

Infertility

One in five couples struggle with infertility. For those experiencing this difficult journey, there is a place to turn for fellowship and support.

In His Time is a group that provides a supportive environment for Catholics who follow Church teachings on infertility. It allows couples to share their experiences with others who are on a similar journey. In His Time meetings offer comfort, hope, and a place for couples as they wait for God’s plan to unfold in their life.

Meetings are held the second Monday of each month, 7-8 p.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel, Hopkins. For more information, contact Deacon Darrel and Chris Branch, 952-929-8695, sweetbranc@aol.com.

Adoption

We as Catholics step forward in supporting adoptions through the loving command “to care for widows and orphans” (James 1:27). During National Adoption Month (November), several parishes host special Adoption Masses. Each Mass is followed by light refreshments and information about adoption, as well as an opportunity to talk with adoptive families.

Additionally, the Archdiocese offers an annual Day of Honor and Recognition for Birthmothers in July. This day is set aside to recognize the sacrifices made by those who have relinquished a child to adoption. The event also offers an opportunity for healing, sharing and learning about resources available for birthmothers.

Holy Family Catholic Adoption Agency, whose Minneapolis-St. Paul location is based out of St. Raphael in Crystal, is a non-profit pro-life organization whose mission is inspired by St. Teresa of Calcutta, to promote adoption as the loving answer to abortion. Learn more at holyfamilyadoption.org.
