After phenomenal growth in northern Dakota County in the 1980s,
St. Thomas Becket in Eagan was established in 1989 with Fr. Thomas
Kommers as founding pastor. During construction of the current facility,
the congregation met in a temporary location dubbed ‘the old post office’.
From the beginning, the parish had a strong focus on serving the local community.
The first Mass in the church was the Easter Vigil, April 3, 1994.
With over 1,600 families today, the active community continues
to put faith in action within the church walls and outside in the community.
