The first St. Timothy was built at East Maple Lake by a group of Irish settlers
in 1869. With the founding of the town of Maple Lake in the late 1880s, the
center of the community shifted, and a new St. Timothy church was built.
The present brick church in the English Gothic style was built in 1922. The
parish school was built in 1951. It continues in operation today.
The parish community has continued to expand. The adoration chapel was
added in 1994. Perpetual Eucharistic adoration began in 1999 and has continued
to the present.
