Synod 2025: Be My Witnesses Assembly is a one-day event consisting of small- and large-group discussion and sharing, with a vote on the 12 Propositions from Synod 2022 that received the most votes. Four of those Propositions already have been addressed in Years 1-3 of implementation of the pastoral letter, You Will Be My Witnesses, and those remain up for consideration and discussion in 2025. The day culminates with Mass for the Vigil of Pentecost at the Cathedral of St. Paul, followed by a Pentecost Prayer Meeting.
Preparing for Synod 2025: Be My Witnesses Assembly
All Synod Members are strongly encouraged to frequently participate in the sacraments (especially Mass and Confession); choose some form of fasting, appropriate to the liturgical season; commit to daily prayer to the Holy Spirit; and choose a work of mercy, all as means of tilling the soil for God’s action at Synod 2025 on June 7.
The preparatory material videos will be released each week between Ash Wednesday, March 5 and the Be My Witnesses Assembly. These videos will review each of the top 12 Propositions from Synod 2022 include a one-page summary sheet with reflection questions intended to encourage a prayerful review of each of these videos in the coming months.
