Archbishop Bernard Hebda has announced the following appointments in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis:
Effective July 6, 2026
Reverend Cyril Whitaker, SJ, assigned as spiritual director for the Saint John Vianney College Seminary in Saint Paul. Father Whitaker is a priest of the USA Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus.
Effective July 14, 2026
Reverend Marcel Okwara, incardinated into the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Father Okwara was ordained in 2007 as a priest of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer and has ministered in the Archdiocese since 2019.
Effective July 15, 2026
Deacon Peter Bednarczyk, granted the status of a retired deacon. Deacon Bednarczyk has served the Archdiocese as a deacon since his ordination in 1988, primarily at the Church of Saint Stephen in Anoka.
