Archbishop Bernard Hebda has announced the following appointments in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis:
Effective June 1, 2026
Reverend Nicholas Froehle, granted a leave of absence for vocational discernment. Father Froehle is also released from his assignment as pastor of the Church of Saint Michael in Farmington.
Very Reverend Michael Tix, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Michael in Farmington, MN. This is in addition to his current assignment as pastor of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Vermillion, the Church of Saint Mathias in Hampton, and the Church of Saint Mary in New Trier, and as Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
Effective July 1, 2026
Reverend Gregory Abbott, assigned as pastor of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Saint Paul. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Peter in Forest Lake.
Reverend Jason Asselin, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church the Nativity in Saint Paul. Father Asselin is a priest of the Diocese of Fargo.
Reverend Neil Bakker, granted a medical leave of absence. Father Bakker is currently serving as the pastor of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Jordan.
Reverend Andrew Brinkman, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint Joseph in Miesville. This is a transfer from his current assignments as priest in solidum for the Church of the Maternity of Mary in Saint Paul and the Church of Holy Childhood in Saint Paul, and as sacramental minister for the Church of Saint Pius V in Canon Falls and the Church of Saint Joseph in Miesville.
Reverend José Maria Cortes, FSCB, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint Joseph in Red Wing. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Peter in North Saint Paul.
Reverend Dida Wariyo Damicha, C.Ss.P, assigned as chaplain for Abbott Northwestern Hospital. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Raphael in Crystal.
Reverend Charles DeReuil, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Charles Borromeo in Saint Anthony for the summer, before returning to Rome to continue academic studies. Father DeReuil was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 2026.
Reverend John Paul Erickson, assigned as parochial vicar of the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of the Nativity of Our Lord in Saint Paul.
Reverend Kyle Etzel, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Louis King of France in Saint Paul. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul.
Reverend Francis Floeder, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Stephen in Anoka. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne in Shakopee.
Reverend Samuel Gilbertson, assigned to the faculty of Saint John Vianney College Seminary. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Ambrose in Woodbury.
Reverend Derek Gilde, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Hubert in Chanhassen. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in New Brighton.
Reverend Ryan Glaser, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Katharine Drexel in Ramsey. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul.
Reverend Daniel Griffith, appointed Vice President for Mission at the University of Saint Thomas. Father Griffith was previously assigned as the Pastor and Rector of the Basilica of Saint Mary.
Reverend Hjalmar Guðjónsson, assigned as pastor of the Church of Pax Christi in Eden Prairie. Father Guðjónsson was previously assigned as parochial administrator of the same parish.
Reverend Alexander Hall, assigned as parochial vicar of the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul. Father Hall was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 2026.
Reverend Paul Hedman, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of the Sacred Heart in Robbinsdale. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids.
Reverend Paul Jarvis, assigned as sacramental minister for the Church of Saint Peter Claver in Saint Paul. Father Jarvis is a retired priest of the archdiocese.
Reverend William Kratt, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Ambrose in Woodbury. This is a transfer from his current assignment as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Hubert in Chanhassen.

Reverend Biju Mathew, assigned as sacramental minister for the Church of Saint Jerome in Maplewood. This is a transfer from his current assignment as pastor of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Saint Paul.
Reverend Michael McClellan, assigned as Director of Worship of the Saint Paul Seminary in Saint Paul. This is a transfer from his current assignment as pastor of the Church of Saint Pius V in Cannon Falls and the Church of Saint Joseph in Miesville.

Reverend Cornelius Jingwa Nkenganyi, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Peter in Forest Lake. Father Jingwa is a priest of the Diocese of Mamfe (Cameroon).
Reverend Matthew Northenscold, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint Mary in Le Center, the Church of Saint Henry in Saint Henry, the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Marysburg, and the Church of the Nativity in Cleveland. Father Northenscold was previously assigned as parochial administrator of the same parishes.
Most Reverend Richard Pates, bishop emeritus of Des Moines, assigned as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Peter Claver in Saint Paul. Bishop Pates succeeds Reverend Christopher Collins, SJ, who has been assigned outside of the Archdiocese by his religious superior.
Reverend Bryan Pedersen, assigned as pastor of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Jordan. This is a transfer form his current assignment as pastor of the Church of the Sacred Heart in Robbinsdale.

Reverend Sebastian Spencer, assigned as parochial vicar of the Church of Saint Michael and the Church of Saint Mary, both in Stillwater. Father Spencer was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 2026.

Retirements
Effective June 1, 2026
Deacon Dennis Chlebeck, granted the status of retired deacon. Deacon Chlebeck has served this archdiocese since his ordination in 2009, most recently at the Church of the Maternity of Mary in Saint Paul.
Effective July 1, 2026
Reverend Paul Jaroszeski, granted the status of a retired priest. Father Jaroszeski has served this archdiocese since his ordination in 1976, most recently at the Church of Saint Katharine Drexel in Ramsey.
