Archdiocese Names Joe Kueppers Chancellor for Civil Affairs

Will Assume Duties of Retiring Chancellor, Andy Eisenzimmer

Joseph (Joe) F. Kueppers of Mendota Heights has been named Chancellor of Civil Affairs for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Kueppers will succeed Andrew (Andy) Eisenzimmer, who is retiring after holding the position since 2005.

“I look forward to assisting and advising the archbishop and archdiocesan parishes and schools. I look at my new position as Chancellor for Civil Affairs as a wonderful opportunity to merge my legal training, talent and experience with my desire to serve the Catholic Church,” said Kueppers. He will begin his new duties on a part-time basis December 19, and will transition to full-time shortly after the New Year.

Citing Kueppers’ extensive legal background, Archbishop John Nienstedt stated, “Joe is an excellent addition to our leadership team at the archdiocese. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, in addition to his strong faith life.” Kueppers has nearly 30 years of experience as an attorney. In 2010, he became president of Kueppers, Kronschnabel and Daly of St. Paul.

Kueppers holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a J.D. from Hamline University’s School of Law.

A lifelong Catholic, Kueppers has held many volunteer roles with a variety of Catholic organizations across the Twin Cities. Kueppers and his wife of 22 years, Vicki have three children and are parishioners of the Church of Saint Joseph in West St. Paul.
