May 18, 2011 - Results of five years of research by the John Jay College of Law on the causes of clerical sexual abuse of minors, released by the U S Conference of Catholic Bishops today, represent a landmark study never undertaken by any other body or group, despite the fact that abuse occurs in so many other areas where adults mentor children.

February 25, 2011 - I was deeply saddened to learn of the arrest last Thursday of Father Christopher Wenthe, a priest of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, on allegations of criminal sexual conduct between Father Wenthe and an adult woman more than five years ago.

April 10, 2008 - The Vatican today announced that Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Richard E. Pates, current auxiliary bishop of The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Des Moines, Iowa.
