Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota, in partnership with Archbishop Bernard Hebda, has reactivated a relief fund to help Catholic parishes and schools in the Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis that are strained by responding to increased needs in their communities.
โParishes and schools are often on the front lines in moments like these,โ the St. Paul-based foundation said on its website Jan. 25 atย https://www.ccf-mn.org. โWhile they continue their broader mission and ministry, these essential efforts can place added financial and organizational strain on Catholic parishes and schools that already work with limited resources.โ
The foundationโs announcement comes during an increased federal immigration enforcement effort in Minnesota. Foundation officials noted that in recent weeks schools and parishes have โstepped forward to respond to increased needs within their communities. Many are providing basic charitable assistance, pastoral presence, and short-term emergency support to individuals and families they serve.โ
The Minnesota Catholic Relief Fund โoffers a shared, coordinated way to invite the broader community to support this work and help parishes and schools manage increased demand,โ the statement said.

The foundation has used this and similar funds in the past, including to help parishes and schools weather the COVID-19 pandemic.
