The Church of Saint Agnes, founded in 1887, is known for its artistic and architectural beauty as well as its tradition of sacred music. Saint Agnes is one of the few Catholic parishes in the world that maintains a weekly High Mass with orchestral accompaniment. In addition to aesthetic beauty, the parish has maintained use of the Latin language in several liturgies each week; both the Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms of the liturgy are celebrated.
Originally established for German speaking immigrants by Archbishop John Ireland, today the parish serves a diverse socio-economic and ethnic community hailing from over sixty zip codes. The parish takes great pride in its K-12 school and its successful fostering of many vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We welcome visitors to the Saint Agnes campus, and encourage everyone to come learn more about the events, activities and educational opportunities offered by the parish and school.
