Clergy Services

The Office of Clergy Services exists to support priests and deacons in all stages of ministry by providing guidance, care, resources and coordination in collaboration with the Archbishop and key Archdiocesan offices.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to ensuring that every priest and deacon is supported, heard and equipped for faithful and effective ministry.

Clergy Services Team

VICAR GENERAL

In this role, Father Tix works closely with the Office of Ministerial Standards and Safe Environment, as well as both Chancellor Offices and the Institute for Ongoing Clergy Formation.

Director of the Office of Clergy Services

Deacon Steve Maier supports Clergy Services by conducting listening sessions as requested by the Archbishop or Comprehensive Assignment Board, providing transition checklists for pastor reassignments, and performing other administrative tasks related to the office, including payments for hospital chaplains and updating visa status for international clergy.

Associate Director of Clergy Services

Deacon Kevin Conneely works to support individual priest situations, serves an ex-officio role on the Comprehensive Assignment Board, and serves as the director of diaconate. In that role, he meets with the Deacon Council and handles all requests for deacons, their placement, and ongoing support of deacons.

Director of Clergy Personnel

Father Michael Van Sloun oversees the work of the Comprehensive Assignment Board and its work of making recommendations for assignments of priests and deacons to Archbishop Hebda and coordination of implementing assignments. This role also oversees hospital chaplains and sabbatical requests.
