Statement Regarding Richard Jeub

From Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda

Richard Jeub was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis in 1966. In 2002, he was removed from ministry due to allegations against him of sexual abuse of a minor. He has sought dispensation from the obligations of the clerical state, commonly referred to as “laicization.”

Today, Richard Jeub was notified that he has been dispensed from the obligations of the clerical state by Pope Francis. He is permanently prohibited from serving as a priest.

Please join me in offering prayers for all affected by sexual abuse, especially young people and the most vulnerable among us.
