On Saturday, July 25, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Cultural Diversity in the Church, in collaboration with other offices at the USCCB and joined by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFYCM), will convene a yearlong intercultural process with young adults and ministry leaders.

Archbishop Bernard Hebda has received permission from the Vatican to include the feast day (February 13) of Blessed James Miller, Martyr, in the Archdiocesan liturgical calendar. It will occupy the rank of optional memorial and its liturgical color is red.

Additional Statement Regarding David Haas
From Tim O’Malley, Director of Ministerial Standards and Safe Environment: Since my June 16, 2020 statement, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis has received additional reports from women in different parts of the country alleging that David Haas engaged in inappropriate conduct with them in the 1980s, when the women were young adults.

USCCB Chairmen Welcome Supreme Court Decision Preserving the Religious Liberty of Little Sisters
The Little Sisters of the Poor recently went to the Supreme Court of the United States again to defend their community against attempts to force Catholic religious to cooperate with immoral activities, and again, the Supreme Court has recognized their right to religious freedom. By a vote of 7-2, the Court ruled in favor of the Little Sisters.
