WINE is a separate organization that the Archdiocese collaborates with for certain programming within the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.

WINE: Women In the New Evangelization meets women where they are on their spiritual journey and empowers each woman to work within her God-given gifts as a woman to nurture, heal, and build up the body of Christ.

WINE finds it roots in the final words of the Blessed Mother in Sacred Scripture, where at the wedding in Cana, Mary directs the servants (and us) to “do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5). Therefore, WINE is about doing the will of God, but it is about doing it in fellowship with her sisters in Christ.

Whereas in the 13th century the Lord said to St. Francis, “Rebuild my Church,” WINE sees a complementary message for such a time as this: the Lord is saying to women today, “Heal my body.” The body of Christ is battered, bruised, and broken, and WINE inspires and encourages women to work in the beauty of their natural gifts and to heal the body of Christ.

WINE incorporates fellowship, Scripture and prayer, solid Catholic teaching in all WINE events, book clubs, studies, blog posts, and pilgrimages.

One of the best explanations heard about WINE was short and and to the point: “WINE has a charism of Unity.” That’s it, pure and simple. WINE is about connecting all that is good in the Catholic Church so women can have a life-changing encounter with Christ.

WINE is greatly needed… It’s a ministry primarily to lead you closer to Christ in your own walk and then to help you share that with the people that you love most in your life. – Lisa Hendey, Catholic author, speaker and founder CatholicMom.com
