Last week, President Biden stated that his top legislative priority after the midterm elections will be codifying a national right to abortion. Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, issued the following response emphasizing the teaching of the Catholic Church on upholding the dignity of human life.
