Companions of Christ Heading North

Archbishop Bernard Hebda has agreed to loan three members of the Companions of Christ to the Diocese of Crookston for a limited period. ARCHBISHOP BERNARD HEBDA HAS ANNOUNCED THE FOLLOWING APPOINTMENT IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF SAINT PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS. EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2024 Deacon Russ Shupe, granted status of a retired deacon. Deacon Shupe has been serving as a deacon in the Archdiocese since his ordination in 1991, most recently at the Church of Saint Michael in Farmington.

January 5, 2024 - From Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda: Since I arrived in this Archdiocese in 2015, I have often been asked for clarification on the status of my predecessor, Archbishop John Nienstedt, who had been under investigation for certain decisions made during his tenure as Archbishop and also regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct with both minors and adults.

From Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda: In these last days of Advent, we are reminded of the amazing love that prompted God the Son to take on human flesh. While the Child Jesus found exceptional welcome, love and support from Mary and Joseph, we cannot deny that he was born at a time and place that epitomized the very messiness of human life.

Urge your state legislator to support real care at the end of life, not assisted suicide

Assisted suicide is neither compassionate nor about real choice. Protecting the choices of a few by legalizing assisted suicide will endanger the health care choices of all.
